Painting meaning
Tribute to Kali, one of the main gods of Hinduism. It is the shakti (or 'energy') unleashed from the male god Shiva, who is considered one of his consorts. The Hindu religion dedicated to Kali is called Shaktism. In it, the goddess represents the angry and destructive aspect of divinity. The most complex tantric beliefs place it as the "ultimate reality" and the "source of being", although its early history as a creature of annihilation still maintains some influence.
